AI is overhyped. Many people share that sentiment, and I understand where it comes from. The media buzz and grandiose claims can be overwhelming at times.

I have a different perspective. From my vantage point working closely with AI development, I see the incredible potential and rapid progress happening behind the scenes. While some of the public hype may be exaggerated, I believe the long-term impact of AI is actually understated.

The key is to look beyond the flashy demos and headline-grabbing applications. The real transformative power of AI lies in how it can revolutionize fields like scientific research, education, and healthcare. Weā€™re still in the early stages, but the pace of advancement is staggering.

That said, itā€™s important to critically examine AIā€™s capabilities and limitations. My advice would be to engage more deeply with the technology yourself ā€“ try out some AI tools and form your own informed opinion. You might be surprised by whatā€™s possible, while also gaining a more nuanced view of where AI still falls short.

Whether AI lives up to the hype depends on how we develop and apply it. Iā€™m optimistic about its potential, but I also believe we need thoughtful governance to ensure it benefits humanity.
